Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Thighs And Groin Area Of A Toddler

Question: hi, my 3yrs old kid boy weighing 15 kgs is suffering from rashes from past 2 days on thighs and gorin. Applied caladoux medicine but looks like it's of no use. kindly suggest some medication for these rashes. thanks in advance. best regards

Hi,

Please send more details about your rash, like its appearance, does it itch, does it have scales, etc. How did it start? If possible please upload photo of the rash.

Applying medicated creams without knowing reason, can worsen the rash.

Seems heat rash

Hi again

Finally I got the pic now. This seems most probably a heat rash (Miliaria Rubra). Does the rash have fluid in the sores? If not then its folliculitis. Anyways treatment for both is similar.

My suggestion as follows:
- Please child in air-conditioned place as much as possible
- No thick clothing over affected areas. Preferably keep the area un-covered or light cotton clothes
- Can wash daily
- Keep skin cool and dry; avoid creams, oils and lotions on it
- Apply Neosporin powder in morning and Hydrocortisone cream or Dosetil cream at night for 3-5 days
