Suggest Treatment For Rashes On Thigh

Brief Answer:
Dermatitis; topical moderately potent steroid
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.
I have taken note of your query and I have also reviewed the Image.
This seems like a localized dermatitis/ eczema.
I guess it must be itchy too.. Does the baby try to scratch this area?
I suggest you to use a moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g either fluticasone propionate 0.05 % cream Or Mometasone furoate 0.1% cream, twice daily, for 10 days or so.
Regards

Is there any non-steroid cream which we can try?
Is there any non-steroid cream which we can try?
Brief Answer:
Non-steroidal creams won't be effective
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Non-steroidal creams won't be effective.
Topical steroids are absolutely safe and would help resolve the inflammation that accompanies dermatitis.
The steroids which I suggested are moderately potent and fluticasone propionate 0.05% cream is absolutely safe for use in infants and children.
You have to use topical steroids just for a week or 10 days and that should help resolve it.

Is the situation recoverable? Or will it recur again? Is there any precaution we can take to avoid these kind of rashes? Is there any particular reason in hygiene that we are missing? This is just one spot on her leg.
Brief Answer:
Use a moisturizer for her; apply twice daily whole body
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
This is absolutely recoverable.
This is most commonly because of underlying dry skin and dry skin makes it easily prone to dermatitis.
You must also use a moisturizer for her and use it twice daily, whole body. Continue with the moisturizer after the dermatitis resolves.
This does not seem to be hygiene related or lack of it.
