Suggest Treatment For Rectal Pain After Anal Sex

Posted on Tue, 24 Jan 2017
Question: Hello,
I had a cold a couple weeks ago during travel and came back before christmas. my bf and I have been together for 5 months and were tested for all stds before we met and were not sexually active after tested. we had rough sex when i came back, and I tore both anally and vaginally. I went to the dr a few days later because my vagina was swollen and the tear was painful. She stated it did not look like herpes or an std at all but she checked anyways, it all came back negative. she put me on ampicillin because i do have bacteria she found, vaginally. this has since gone away and I'm still finishing up my rx. during this time i also tore on my anus. passing stool was very painful but again, has gotten much better. I've used neosporin, lidocaine, hydrocorisone, etc on my skin because it was hurting and bleeding and I woke up yesterday with bumps around my anus. they don't hurt or itch but it does burn when i use the bathroom. i went to an urgent care and they stated it looked like herpes. she swabbed it and I'm back home now crying and scared. my dr said she wasn't worried and i only went to urgent care to find relief for my skin, not to be diagnosed with herpes. my personal gut is telling me that my skin is just sensitive and raw and my follicles maybe got clogged where i put all the creams and ointments. there are hairs coming out from where these bumps are. and it just feels like my skin is tearing. when she swabbed me she was very rough and i said "ow" and she said yeah herpes are painful. I'm assuming it was painful because she was rough on tender skin. Could I have herpes even though its monday and i was just checked by my normal dr on thursday and she said it wasn't herpes? can i have sores just from wiping, pooping and using ointment? please help. I've been crying all day.

Brief Answer:
Just relax, chances of Herpes is less likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello
welcome to health care magic, I really appreciate your concern.

Looking at your symptoms like pain and irritation following anal sex might be related to to local infection or inflammation of the anal mucosa, Fissure or proctitis. Further vigrous wiping, application of ointment aggravated the condition.

I would advise you to take sitz bath which you can take by placing your rear end in bath tub filled with XXXXXXX warm water for 10-15 minutes.

You may require a course of antibiotics like Norfloxacin and tinidazole under medical supervision.

Meanwhile try to avoid constipation by taking laxative like liquid paraffin or lactulose, lots of fresh fruits and dietary fiber like ishabgol husk.

Apply antiseptic solution like soframycin or mupirocin and keep it clean and dry.

Don't think much about Herpes, it generally appears as fluid filled vesicles and looking it your description it seems to be unlikely.

So in my opinion you should worry much about this follow as I advised you will be alright very soon, please don't hesitate to ask for follow up question and further clarification, I will be happy to help you.
Best wishes

Thank you for giving me some relief. Do I ask my dr to prescribe those recommended medications? How could an ANP be quick to diagnose me if she didn't think it was anything but herpes? Maybe she saw something that triggered her thought? I took a picture so I can see more and it just seemed like ulcer like abrasions, there was no pus or anything. They look like tiny rug burns almost with white on top (not pimple like but more like new skin is forming) reminds me of an ulcer. I'm so terrified. My best friend had the same thing happen to her, a Dr was quick to diagnose AND prescribe and it ended up NOT being herpes. My sister is a nurse and says it doesn't sound like herpes and my boyfriend is not concerned either because he believes theres no way we suddenly contracted it. thank you so much for giving me relief. I have not eaten all day. just crying and trying to figure out why she would tell me that

Brief Answer:
Yes, you should ask your doctor for these medicines for speedy recovery

Detailed Answer:
Hello
welcome again Dear.

Just relax, have your food with full of dietary fiber and fresh fruits.

why did she diagnosed her with Herpes, I can't comment on that but looking at your description chances of Herpes is very unlikely, you don't worry.
Even if it is there (which is not there) you need not to worry it's a treatable condition.

Yes, of course you can ask your doctor for a course of antibiotics, anti acidity medicine like pantoprazole or ranitidine and antiseptic ointment or solution for cleaning and dressing

Sitz bath you should take very genuinely, I am sure it will soothe your ulcer and pain.

Hope this answers your question
wishing you happy new year and good health.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome again
looking at your photograph it doesn't seem to be Herpes but it can't be ruled out completely without physical examination and investigation.

In my opinion you should not visit doctor one after another, just relax and take the treatment as advised.

you need not to worry much, it's a treatable condition and you will be alright after a course of antibiotics.

Upload me reports once you get it.
Wishing for your speedy recovery and good health.
