Suggest Treatment For Recurrent UTIs

default
Posted on Tue, 8 Mar 2016
Question: I have a UTI infection . Can you help with this? There are two meds that seem to kick it; one is Cipro and the other that actually works better Macrobid and according to the old bottle it was 100mg 4 x day for a week.
Why do I get UTIs? I'm in sales so often "hold it" way too long; I'm 67 female . I have great cholesteral levels, no high blood pressure or other problems. Take a claritan to allergies every day. Weight: 140 Ht: 5'7ish.

Brief Answer:
Needs workup management and precautions

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. UTI of course can be bothering and recurrent UTIs are mostly due to many factors prolonged holding of urine inside bladder is one of them.
Ideal way to treat a uti is workit up before . a simple urine routine exam and urine cultures will tell you the bug. Macrobid is good . instead of cipro try some other medication as cipro is mostly resistant and maybe the reason uti recurs due to insufficient treatment.
Good toilet and coital habits , increased intakd of fluids , garlic will help. unnecessary manipulation of genitals should be avoided and groin should be kept hair free. Void after sex and avoid douching.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
