Brief Answer:
pneumological consult needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello, I have been through your question and understand your concern.

Bronchitis is an upper airways inflammation, which may have have several causes underlying, like infection (bacterial or viral) or an allergy.

Your prescribed treatment is an antibiotic which is effective only in bacterial bronchitis. Since you had no recovery, probably the treatment was incorrect.

The best way to treat an upperway inflammation is a careful inspection of the area and if necessary a chest RX or throat specimen test which would better understand the nature.

I would exclude the viral cause, because they tend to go away in a week time, and generally need no treatment other than hot drinks and some rest.

The problem with an episode of bronchitis is to prevent it becoming chronic. That is why I recommend a pneumological consult to better understand the condition and prescribe the appropriate treatment.

Hope this helps you.

Greetings.
