Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Chest Pain And Chronic Cough
Question: I have been having chest pains every day and mostly at night...I also have a chronic cough that has stayed with me for at least 5 years. I was diagnosed with asthma regarding the cough, and use Albuterol. Not much help which is why I doubt the diagnosis for asthma. Back to the chest pain, when I lie down, the pain goes through my chest to my back. I don't smoke, BTW. I don't have a great deal of confidence in the doctors I have been seeing for both of these problems. But as of the past week, I'm considering chancing it again and checking it out with yet another dr.

what is an esophageal disorder? I know what the esophagus (sp) is but what tests are required to determine that's what it is? And what could cause the problem in the first place? Thank you.
