Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Cold, Cough And Fever

Question: My son is 2 yrs old.He has been suffering from on and off cold cough and fever since last 2 months.yesterday doc asked for a neck xray n its detected that adenoids are enlarged and this was the reason of constant cough and cold. Now doc prescribed antibiotic refzil 0. He is having fever since last 4 days. Temp goes between 100-101. Initially doc said its viral but it has been 5 days now. Once we give medicine temperature comes down then again fever comes back after 4-5 hrs. Is it normal? I mean why he is having constant fever? And will adenoid reduce with the help of medication?
Brief Answer:
Yes, adenoids will reduced with medication
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that adenoids of your son will reduced with medication.
Constant fever may be due to the ineffectiveness of above mentioned antibiotic.
In this condition I personally advised throat swab culture and antibiotic sensitivity and antibiotic according to test result.
With antibiotic you also add anti allergic medicine such as fexofenadine, nasal decongestant such as oxymetazoline, nebulization and steroid nasal spray to the medicines of your son if he needed after consulting with your doctor.
Avoid cold drinks, cold water and ice cream if he have.
Thanks
