Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Pain In One Eye When Diagnosed With Gum Infection

Question: Have pain around one eye that comes and goes every few seconds. Have been diagnosed with gum infection and scheduled for extractions. Don't know if this is related. Thank you
Brief Answer:
Can be nerve related.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for the query..
Pain around one eye that comes and goes can be related to nerve irritation.
At times the pain can be radiating from any tooth site if there is gum and tooth infection.
So for a confirmation you should get checked by your Dentist..
If it gets better after tooth extraction then it is fine otherwise you should get checked by a Physician and an MRI Scan can be done..
Hope this helps..
Regards.

Infection is in lower front teeth and gums. Could it still be radiating pain? Periodontist friend warned that the infection could travel, even to the brain with dire results. Dentist did not want to do antibiotics. Could the infection have traveled to the eye socket? Thank you so much.
Brief Answer:
Less likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
If infection is in lower teeth and gums then there is less likely that the eye pain is due to the tooth or gum related infection.
So once an examination with a Physician and an MRI Scan can be done for confirmation..
Hope this helps..
