default
Posted on Tue, 4 Apr 2017
Question: hello sir/madam,
I have been suffering from skin disease for last few years, image attached. Somewhere it is light and at the stomach area, it is dark spots. It gets fine whenever 'nuforce GM' is applied or 'calcium Sandos and batnisol' injection is given. But, I'm looking for permanent solution. Please suggest what may be done.
thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
Looks like pityriasis versicolor, go for potassium hydroxide scraping

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints as well as reviewed the attached photographs.
It seems to be pityriasis versicolor which is a superficial fungal infection of the skin.
Is this rash associated with any itching?
What are the sites involved?
I would recommend you to go for potassium hydroxide scraping of the skin to confirm the diagnosis and start the treatment accordingly.
Both nuforce gm and betnesol injections are steroids which will cause only temporary suppression of the infection but won't let it cure.
So you stop using them in future.

Dr Asmeet
