Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
The most common causes of a persisting cough are: (1)
post nasal drip due to allergic rhinitis
(2)GERD-
gastroesophageal reflux disease is also a common cause of
chronic cough even in the absence of the typical symptoms. It would not normally cause any nasal symptoms such as
sneezing however.
(3)asthma
Lung cancer is a also a cause of chronic cough but is not nearly as common as the reasons previously mentioned. In addition, lung cancer is not usually associated with any nasal symptoms such as sneezing or throat symptoms such as
sore throat.
Though everyone is different, it is also normally associated with symptoms such as
shortness of breath,
chest discomfort, possible blood in the sputum ,
weight loss.
With the history of coughing, sneezing, sore throat, ticking sensation in the throat- your symptoms are more in keeping with a post nasal drip due to allergic sinusitis/rhinitis (hay fever)
You may want to consider avoiding the allergen if it is known. Other aspects of treatment are the use of a
topical steroid nasal spray and antihistamines.
A decongestant would also useful if there is any nasal congestion
I hope this helps , feel free to ask any other questions
