Suggest Treatment For Recurring Daily Headaches

default
Posted on Tue, 3 Feb 2015
Question: I get a daily temple headache in my right temple. The headache lasts a few minutes then goes away and comes back again 5-20 minutes later. The temple throbbing starts at 14:00 every day and has been occurring since 01/02/2015. I have never been prone to head aches before and I am taking no medications. I work out everyday and try to eat right so this is concerning me.

Brief Answer:
Need some information from you sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. If I am not wrong, you mentioned having these headaches at the same time everyday since the 2nd? If this is right, then this could be related to something routine like meal-timing, over sleeping, change in sleep cycle/time, alcohol intake, increased exercise, or exercise without proper intake of food, change in maintenance of any chronic conditions, medications, etc.

I would request you to write back to me with any changes you have noticed or observed since the 1st of this month. Also please write back to me with a response for the following sir:

+Medications you have taken since the 1st (although you have mentioned not being on any medications, may be you took something off late)
+Stress level off late
+Response to any changes since the 1st of this month
+Taking into consideration the New Year celebrations, did you party? Alcohol consumption or anything else worth mentioning?
+Do you have a family history of any chronic conditions like diabetes, poor eyesight, hypertension, etc.?

I look forward to hearing from you in order to better understand and help you. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.

I go to bed and wake up at the same times everyday. I'm usually in bed around 23:00 and up in the morning at 08:00. I work out everyday at around 09:30 and i do so on an empty stomach since food before exercise give me an upset stomach. I have do it this way for years so nothing new there. I feel great until 2 in the afternoon. This is when the throbbing in my right temple starts. I had a sinus related tonsil infection back over thanksgiving of 2014. I was proscribed 10 day regiment of ammoxiciline and completed it. As far as i know my stress level has been relatively low as of late. I have been sleeping great and eating well. I usually don't have anything to eat until 12:00 PM except for black coffee when I wake up. I keep myself very well hydrated all day. I don't drink alcohol much at all I had none on new years. My family history does include type 2 diabetes my grandfather had it. He also had heart disease. Other than that there is no history of cancer or anything else that I am currently aware of. I am very in tune with my body so things like persistent temple headache are a concern for me. The weather in my town has been fluctuating a lot. It was 60 degrees yesterday and today it is 14 degrees I'm not sure if that could be a factor. Other than the headaches which come and go every 20 minutes or so all day until i go to bed, I have been feeling fine. Hope this helps. Thanks

Brief Answer:
?? Blood glucose abnormality current top

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

Thank you so much for the helpful response and all the information you had to provide.

Based on your current regimen and the family history of diabetes, I am suspecting a possible lowering of blood sugar and/or blood pressure. We need to confirm or rule out a few things, and so I would request you to visit a doctor for an elaborate evaluation with the following investigations included, along with other recommended investigations:

+Blood glucose level: To be conducted around 1-2 pm, which is when you have your headaches
+Blood pressure: Again at the same time
+Opthalmologist examination
+A neuro exam along with a CT scan or an MRI examination may also help

I understand and respect the regimen you have been going through to take special care of your health, but not having something till 12 pm on a daily basis is really unhealthy in my opinion. And with the added family history of diabetes you should be more careful than the others.

I look forward to hearing from you, so please do write back to me with the results of your investigations so I can guide you further from there on. I also hope you find my response both helpful and informative, please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you sir.

Best wishes.
