default
Posted on Mon, 9 Nov 2015
Question: Hello Doctor, My wife is suffering from frequent mouth ulcers. At times ulcers get developed in the tongue which becomes very difficult for her to even talk and take food. We have observed that the mouth ulcers are as frequent as once a month off late. Please suggest what we should be doing to ensure she doesn't suffer in future.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Seems like Recurring Apthous Ulcers..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms formation of painful ulcers over the tongue which occurs recurrently seems to be Recurring Apthous Ulcers but confirmatory diagnosis can be given only after a clinical evaluation..
It can occur due to a few common conditions like Nutritional Deficiency of Iron, Vitamin B12 and folic acid, stress, acid reflux etc..
I would like to know a few more thingsfrom your wife so that I can guide you better towards treatment..

1.Do you have a dry mouth?
2.Have you started taking any medicine recently after which the ulcers started recurring?
3.Are you chronically under any tensed conditions?
4.Do you have acid reflux?
5.Do you have any known allergies?
6.Do you have any known diseasesor hormonal problems?

Kindly answer the following questions as well as any additional information that you would like to provide so that I can guide you better towards proceeding towards treatment..

Waiting for your reply..

Wishing you a good health..

Thanks and regards..
