Suggest Treatment For Red And Itchy Genitals After Use Of Monistat Cream

Question: I thought had yeast infection so I used a monistat depository n cream on outside gentals. my gentail r still real red and very itchy. it has been over 24 hours sense I took the application n I still useing the monistat cream. is it yeast or could be something else. what should I do

Hi dear and thanks for trusting to us .

Itching and swelling on your genitals are symptoms of yeast infection for most of times ,but there are many other another reasons, like contact dermatitis.
Hence to determine if you have or not yeast infection ,please write me back with some details:

Do you have like cottage cheese vaginal discharges ?
Do you have and inner itching except outside?
Is this the first time you have these symptoms?
Did you use vaginal douches ?
Is your cycle regular?
Did you use enough water?

To relive these symptoms try to have Sitz bath adding betadine three to four times per day .

no there's no cottage cheese discharge ,itching is only on outside, I get this about every 3/4 months,I don't douce,if you mean if I use enough water as on drinking no,I drink very lil water,and my cycle is normal I thinking, haven't really noticed

Hi dear again!

Since you don't have inner itching ,cottage cheese like discharge and you have this issue every 3/4 months , all signs and symptoms you are facing have more chances to be a dermal(skin) issue such as dermatitis.

But diagnose can be done only by inspection of affected area .

I will give you some tips to relive these issue:
1. use cotton underwear
2.try to use water when you go to bathroom (when you have itching add betadine)
3.use over the counter creams that contain corticosteroids
4.avoid spicy and fries foods

If your signs and symptoms doesn't relive by following these tips better have a gynecological exam.
