Suggest Treatment For Red And Raised Marks On The Inner Surface Of Lips

Question: Red marks on inside lip, feel raised when touched with tongue. I believe they just appeared, and noticed them just a little while ago. Concerned. Picture has been attached.

I have read your query and understand your concern . As far as Red and Raised marks inside lip is concerned it can be Mucocele or trauma caused by any hard food . Can you send image of your mark on my mail - YYYY@YYYY with subject line 'Attention to Dr. Priyanka tiwari'.

At the moment based on details provided I will suggest the following measures :
- Do warm saline rinses 2 to 3 times a day .
- You can apply Ointment containing Lignocaine or chlohexidine gluconate on lips .

Don't be worried so much; it doesn't seems like anything serious . Kindly send me pictures .

Hi - thank you for the quick reply. I attached images to my profile as well as sent to the email you requested attention to you. A quick response is greatly appreciated! My initial concern is HSV1, although there is no actual blister yet, there appears to be a lesion. I was alarmed at how quickly the abrasion(s) felt to have appeared. Although probably premature, I am am very concerned. No other symptoms I can think to mention. Thank You!

It doesnt seems like Herpes infection , there is nothing to be worried.

Welcome .

I have read your query and gone through the images you have attached . As far as I have observed it looks like trauma . Redness appears to b due iirritation and it should resolve on its own . It is not like Herpes infection .

I will suggest the following measures :
-Do warm saline rinses .
-Drink plenty of water.
- You can apply Ointment containing Triamicilone Acetonide paste twice daily .
- You can take medicine Antioxidant with Multivitamin

If redness persists more then one week after following these measures then consult Oral Physician for clinical examination and evaluation .
