Suggest Treatment For Red Bumps On Head And Rashes On Back
Question: My baby is 6 months old , he is having some big red bump on head and red rashes on the back
Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction. You need not worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic. I have gone through the images. I do not think that the rashes are a cause of worry. They seem to have been caused due to an allergic reaction. Giving Syrup Cetirizine (1mg/ml) 0.75 ml or 12 drops twice daily for a few days should help in resolving the rashes. This is an over the counter medicine and you can give it safely to your child. You may also apply some moisturizing cream over the affected area.

Thank you for your reply , currently my baby had two medications for flu and fever which are :
PRIMALAN SYRUP 60ml
&
IBUPROFEN SYRUP 100mg
is it possible the above medications are the cause for the rashes or any allergic reaction.

Brief Answer:
These medicines are not likely to cause the rashes
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking back. Ibuprofen relieves fever. On the other hand Primalan contains Mequitazine which is very similar to the medicine that I suggested and works in the same line. Neither of these medicines are likely to have caused the rashes. Rather, the rashes could be a part of the probable viral infection for which your child is receiving the medications. You need not give Cetirizine separately if you are giving Primilan.
I would suggest you to mention about the rashes to your treating physician. He may like to get the platelet count checked.
