Suggest Treatment For Red Bumps On The Vagina
Question: I recently shaved the bikini line area of my vagina and it resulted in getting razor burn red bumps. Also appeared is a purple/red looking spot in an area I never shaved where I left pubic hair. What would be causing this? Could it be connected to the shaving as when I shaved some of my pubic hair it caused some bleeding. Thanks
Brief Answer:
Purple area most likely ecchymosis due to bleeding in the skin
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
According to your complaints the purple area is mostly likely an ecchymotic spot which has occurred due to bleeding in the skin due to the razor.
It will take few days to resolve.
For other razor bumps you can apply a topical antibiotic like neosporin ointment on the affected areas twice daily for 7-10 days.

Thank you, I was worried it could of been cancerous? However, I thought it would have to be linked to shaving as it only occurred after I had shaved.
Brief Answer:
Welcome!!
Detailed Answer:
Welcome!!
I don't think it is cancerous.
Still keep a check on it as it should resolve in 7-10 days.

Hello again,
It has been 8 days since this spot appeared and it isn't showing any signs of going away. If I attached a photo, would this give you a more clear idea if it is what you thought? Also, would this be confidential? Thanks

Hello, I have attached an image by uploading it. Did it work? Thank you
Brief Answer:
Not looking like ecchymotic spot, seems to be seborrhoeic keratosis
Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it is not looking like an ecchymotic spot.
It seems to be seborrhoeic keratoses which is a benign growth of the skin.
I would recommend you to consult a dermatologist and get it examined clinically.
