Suggest Treatment For Red Itchy Bumps On Abdomen, Back And Legs
![default](/r/images/default.png)
My family just got back from PV, Mexico on Sunday. My 8 year old son was in the water pretty much the whole trip. He now has red, itchy bumps all over his stomach, back, arms, legs and his bottom. What could this be?
Can you upload an image please
Detailed Answer:
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
I have gone through your query and seen the images provided. It is an urticarial rash or a simple skin allergy. It will settle in few hours to days depending on allergen exposure and body's reaction to it.
Most important thing to be remembered is that it has a propensity to recur (called as second crop) within 10-14 days. I suggest you use calamine lotion as its giving results along with oral anti-allergic like Hydroxyziine or Cetrizine. If this happens, you can start using the same medicine but I suggest you get the kid evaluated with your pediatrician as the drug is suggested is a prescription drug.
But as of now, if you have any over the counter anti-allergic licensed at this age in your country, you can give it in the suggested dose.
It would be very helpful for me if you can upload an image of the rash.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
