Suggest Treatment For Reddish Patch On Skin On The Hands

Question: On the back of my left hand, I have a reddish area about 3/4 inch by 1 inch with a very slight rise relative to the area with a normal skin color. All surface characteristics are almost identical to all the normally colored areas of skin. The edges are reasonably regular. Since I first became aware of this area, approximately 2 weeks ago, it size has not noticeably changed.
What are the possible causes and what if any action should I take.
Thank You

Brief Answer:
Trauma, contact dermatitis, allergic reaction, vasculitis, watch for now.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM. Thank you for the image that helps out a lot. I think that the area and the fact that it has not changed indicates that you may have inadvertently hit it against furniture. It is also possible that you got into contact with something that your skin reacted to. The extensor surfaces are notorious for that. At the moment I would not worry too much about it, just note that the size does not increase in size. I hope this helps you out, thanks and good luck.
