Suggest Treatment For Redness And Blood Pustule Around A Chest Keloid
Flucloxacillin or Dicloxacillin are found to be effective.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Hi
Welcome to HCM.
I appreciate your concern for the suspected keloid infection.
If you have a sudden onset appearance of pain in a Keloid and the area is warmer than the surrounding normal skin it is highly suggestive of infection.
Had you been my patient, I would have advised you a course of oral Flucloxcacillin or Dicloxacillin along with NSAID pain killers like Ibuprofen for a period of about 7 days.
Antibiotics alone may not be enough for such an infected keloid.
The necrotic and infectious material has to be drained from this kind of keloid if the antibiotics alone failed to eradicate the infection.
So, a surgeon opinion is highly recommended.
I hope I could answer your query. Should you need more information, please send your query.
Regards.
