Suggest Treatment For Redness And Pain In The Penis Caused By Dermatitis

Question: Three days ago I felt my boxer shorts rub the top of my penis. There was some discomfort. I examined it and it felt tender near the top. It turned the top (one side) faintly red with what looked like red abrasions/spots. I left it alone, went to sleep, and woke up and the redness appeared diminished.
So oddly, that side of the top of my penis is a little sensitive. It doesn't hurt or feel painful at all. I rub on the red area and feel nothing. I sleep fine at night and no discomfort from this. I have been using cortisone but haven't noticed any difference. This is technically the 4th full day.
I can touch, rub and examine the area with zero pain and discomfort. I have had no other symptoms that I can speak to.
Is this applicable to an infection? Std? I am very careful and always use protection.
Thank you in advance.

Brief Answer:
Looks like nonspecific dermatitis, continue cortisone cream
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your history and reviewed the attached photographs.
It is not looking like any std or infection.
It looks like some nonspecific dermatitis related to the boxers you have worn or to friction from masturbation or physical activity.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply a moisturising cream on it twice daily.
You can continue applying cortisone cream for few more days as inflammation takes time to settle.

Dr Asmeet

I am still concerned why it seems to be more red some times of the day and not others? I have other pictures that show it's barely visible. I can touch, rub and feel nothing which is odd. I examine it all the time because I worry it could be something serious or an std. I see no bumps or otherwise. Should I worry? How long before it disappears?
Brief Answer:
No need to worry, doesn't look like anything serious
Detailed Answer:
I understand your concern but it is bare redness and nothing serious.
You can keep it under observation for another 2 weeks and it should subside.
It is not looking like any infection, std or specific skin disease.

Hello.
Quick follow-up questions. I was using cortisone but stopped because it didn't seem to be working.
I uploaded a new report. Nothing has changed but I took a picture of me stretching my penis head. It is hard to see but there are red dots (not raised bumps) but smooth to the skin. They are in varied places on my penis on one side. Some times during the day I can't even see anything but other times I can. You have to look very close to see anything.
Does this change anything in your diagnoses?
