Question: I had a ijury to my thigh,no bruising for several days, then below that injury point I developed redness, bruising and swelling, I am a heart patient on cumadian. Should I see my doc?

I appreciate your concern

Yes, you should as a clinical examination would indicate if there is any blood accumulation that is responsible for the swelling. If so an Ultrasound of the lower limb including specifically the bruised area can be done for confirmation. INR can be checked on the same day and Coumadin would be stopped till the bruising and swelling subsides. If there is no evidence of a bleed and the INR is within range there may be no need to alter the medication.
