Suggest Treatment For Redness Of Knee, Calf And Shin Area With Shrimp Allergy

Question: 6 years ago right hip surgery.
Mild allergy to shell fish
Ate shrimp SAturday afternoon.
Had fever and chills that night.
Next day had pain on upper inside thigh near groin
Thigh area now sore with red skin. No rash with itching.
Part of knee and entire right calf and shin area to ankles are red and possible rash trying to pop up.
Took 1 brandyl 20 minutes ago to see is it is allergic reaction.
Have been on cardizem for migraines for 20 years. Recently tried to go off it. 1week ago. Took one yesterday to help with head ache. No more head ache.
Hard to walk and put pressure on involved leg. Paid fro 1 to 10 is an 8. Leg feels stiff. Have been taking Advil.
Have had gout in hand 2weeks ago.

Thanks for your query.

Its very rare for an allergic reaction to affect a joint or tissues around it. Usually allergic reactions either cause generalized symptoms or symptoms in parts with rich blood supply.

I suspect that there could be a inflammatory reaction going in and around the joint which might have been triggered by the allergic reaction caused by the shrimp.

I recommend a detailed clinical examination to rule out the same. If the condition progresses it could get serious.

Do consult a Orthopedician for the same. Meanwhile do take Tab Motrin 400 mg twice daily after food for not more than three days.
