Removal of the eye ball is not required.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.
I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history.
I can understand your concerns and no need to be worried.
The removal of the eye is not required for this condition. Removal of the eye ball is done only for painful blind eye.
It seems from the history that you have undergone keratoplasty for a corneal scar following healing of corneal ulcer.
The next treatment options are use of artificial tears eye drops for symptomatic relief.
You can go for repeat keratoplasty if there is scarring following the keratoplasty. But removal of the eye is not advised as you are having a visual acuity of 20/100 and there is always of chance of improvement in the vision following repeat keratoplasty. If this also fails then we can try other options like keratoprosthesis.
Hence I advice you to consult cornea specialist and discuss with him all these options.
Hope this answers your question and the information is helpful to you.
Thank you
