Suggest Treatment For Repeated Episodes Of Blurring Of Vision
I couldn't see to drive or read anything. The first time it lasted for 3 days.
This time for 2 days. Then my vision gradually returned.
I saw my eye doctor yesterday. I have a significant cataract be he doesn't think surgery is needed right now.
I want to know what could cause this and what kind of doctor to see. I have already seen an eye doctor/surgeon.
My first occurrence was 3 months ago. This incident was yesterday and today. I am retired and healthy.
You need to consult physician doctor for evaluation.

Hello
Welcome to Health care magic
I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.
I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having repeated episodes of blurring of vision which will recover on its own slowly.
These symptoms indicate transient loss of vision. The common causes that needs to be ruled out are hypotension, hypovolemia, hypoglycemia and vascular spasms or occlusions of the retinal vessels.
Hence first thing to be done is to rule out common causes like hypotension, hypovolemia, hypoglycaemia....
If these things are ruled out we need to evaluate to find the risk factors which can cause vascular occlusions like atherosclerosis, carotid artery diseases....
Hence you need to consult Physician doctor for evaluation and treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.
Thank you
My doctor is out of town until the middle of next week. How worried should I be?
You need to consult your physician.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.
A signigicant cataract will not cause symptoms of episodes of blurring of vision but it causes diminution of vision which will be insidious in onset and slowly progressive in nature.
This can occur because of variety of reasons and if it is because of common causes like hypoglycaemia, hypotension, hypovolemia... then no need to be worried.
However if these causes are ruled out evaluation for vascular diseases is required.
Hence I advice you to see your physician doctor for evaluation.
Hope this answers your question.
