Suggest Treatment For Retinal Bleeds
What precaution do I take prior to flying?
No relation to flying but control glaucoma
Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
The relationship between flying and retinal bleed is not established.A pressure of 20/22 after treatment is not acceptable. In a person like you our target pressure is about 16 or depending upon other investigations like gonioscopy and field charting may even be 14.Once we keep the target pressure in this range ,even if there is a momentary rise the pressure is still within normal range and optic nerve damage is minimized.A s optic nerve damage is irreversible
Talk to your doctor about this as you appear to me to be a fit person for a 3 drug regimen.
Keep your blood pressure under control and let us get the intra ocular pressure reduced further.
Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
I hope this reaches you.
Your diagnosis that retinal bleeds and flying has been endorsed by two of my ophthalmic surgeons.
A pressure of 16/18 is a dream. 18/22 is my range.
What 3rd regime medicine can be added?
Regards
Glaucoma

Good of you to get back to me.
Timolol.5%is another drop to be put in twice a day and get the pressure checked after a week to assess its efficacy.
