Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Rosacea is a common acne-like skin condition that is easily controllable and medically manageable.
With the proper treatment, rosacea symptoms and signs can be fairly well controlled.
You can try the following as an initial treatment:-
(1)- Topical antibiotic medication such as metronidazole (Metrogel) applied one to two times a day after cleansing may significantly improve rosacea. You can also try clindamycin gel
(2)- Azelaic acid (Finacea gel 15%) is another effective treatment for patients with rosacea.
(3)- Topical cortisone (steroid) preparations of minimal strength can also be tried to reduce inflammation and symptoms of rosacea.
(4)-Prescription or over-the-counter sensitive skin cleansers may also provide symptomatic relief. Benzyl peroxide wash can also be tried.
(5)- In severe cases oral antibiotics like doxycycline may be required.
In advnced cases you can opt for laser and photodynamic therapy under the guidance of a cosmetologist.
For dry skin always use a good quality moisturiser frequently. It is better to use moisturiser that contains lactic acid and urea. Avoid long showers and humidify your indoors.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
