Suggest Treatment For Runny Nose With Foul Smelling Nasal Secretions
Question: Runny nose with snot smelling real bad. Snot looks like puse.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Runny nose with foul smelling nasal secretions likely look like bacterial infection. Amoxicillin is fine as treatment. I would like addition of any topical ointment like mupirocin for nose to completely cover staph aureus as well common resident of nasal area and likely adding to these secretions. Meanwhile , keep draining the nose with warm water and keep blowing nose gently to get the secretions out. You can take some benadryl as well as advil for the supportive care. Dont manipulate nose with fingers or any other machine like trimming of nasal hair till full recovery. I am sure it will be over in a couple of days. Stay compliant to the meds you are prescribed with.
