Question: Hi I was just diagnosed with scabies and was told to apply a permethrin cream. It says to apply to the whole body, do I have to apply it to my entire penis? , incuding the head? Should I shave my public hair before applying? I don't have any itching or bumps on my penis. Really bad on my wait line

Brief Answer:
usually a small amount is applied here

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is normally applied to the genitals as well to ensure entire body coverage. Most information leaflets advise special attention is paid to the external genitalia , under the nails, between the fingers and toes, wrists, armpits .

Broken skin, eyes, nose and mouth are avoided.

If you are still not sure about application to the genitalia region, you may want to consider speaking to your doctor

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
yes, you can go back for review

Detailed Answer:
HI

You can be re examined 2 weeks after treatment and possibly again at 1 month to look for lesions
If your doctor can identify lesions/suspicious areas on the skin, then this may indicate that the treatment was ineffective
