Brief Answer:
You need systemic antifungals and antibiotics for a lasting cure.

Detailed Answer:
Hi!

It seems that you have an infection of the scalp and the region that is affected behind the ear. Please upload a photo so that I am better able to help.

You mention having tried selsun shampoo. Furthermore you state that you have tried cortisone steroid cream. Actually, the steroid cream may initially help but speaking purely, it can worsen the condition, as you report the lesions are oozing now.

The best solution of all for you once and for all is to take an anti fungal tablet. I would recommend either griseofulvin or fluconazole tablets. In the case of griseofulvin, you need to take a short course. In the case of fluconazole, you might need to take a single dose. I would caution you from taking ketaconazole tablets because they are rather toxic to the liver, particularly for some people.

I will recommend that you take a course of systemic antibiotics to kill the superimposed bacterial infections that exist. The antibiotic that is to be taken is a matter of choice and opinion of the local doctor you see to get the prescription from, to get these above mentioned medicines.

Seriously, I feel that topically applied shampoos and creams may help to lower you problem slightly. But they will not solve and cure the problem entirely.
