I have had 3 schwannomas taken out of my left foot. what I'm asking is why would I still feel sharp pain in my foot?
Brief Answer:
Removal of Schwannomas involves damage to nerve cells
Detailed Answer:
The pain that you feel is called neuropathic pain. The Schwann cells ensheathe the nerve cells and the tumor involving Schwann cells is called Schwannoma. Thus Schwannomas necessarily involve nerves which are damaged when the Schwannomas are removed. Hence in spite of removal, you may still get the pain.
