Suggest Treatment For Sebaceous Cyst On Back Of Neck

Question: how much should it cost to have a sebaceous cyst removed from the back of my neck. It is at least an inch diameter and over an inch high. it is not anchored but feels hard the skin is streached but no discoloration.
Brief Answer:
$200-300 dollars
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
An in office surgical procedure like this should cost about $200-300 dollars. It could cost more if the doctor sends tissue to a pathology lab if there is any concern for cancer or other abnormal tissue problems. If tissue is sent to pathology then you have to also pay the pathologist for preparing the tissue and reading the slides from it under a microscope. If it is truly just a sebaceous cyst then it is probably not necessary to send it to pathology.
Pricing can vary widely from office to office so if you are paying for this out of pocket then make sure you ask about the cost before you commit to it.
Let me know if you have further questions.
