Suggest Treatment For Seizure Disorder Which Causes Seizures Around The 3rd Week Of Every Month?
Diazepam is used for Clusters of Seizures
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I am so sorry to hear about your seizure disorder and I understand that you want to be careful with taking any new medications. Let me see if I can put you at ease with some information and we can discuss this further whenever you want to.
From what you are describing these 2 or 3 seizures a month sound like a "SEIZURE CLUSTER". That is when a bunch of seizures happen within a few hours to a few days of each other and are normally brought on by stress or hormonal changes.
Most seizure medicines are given to prevent seizures from beginning. Because seizure clusters can be harmful, diazepam may be prescribed for people who have experienced such clusters. You can keep the Diazepam handy so that if another cluster begins, a caregiver can attempt to stop it by giving diazepam.
I would take the Diazepam if I were in your situtaion, just not long term, only when the clusters come on. Make sense?
I hope this helps! Feel free to follow-up with me. Stay safe.
