Suggest Treatment For Sensation In The Testicles And Bladder Area

Posted on Mon, 19 Dec 2016
Question: Hello Dr. Rynne,
Thank you in advance for your advice or help. I am a 50 year old male, smoker and drinker. A couple weeks ago I began feeling a sensation that woul;d start in my testicles it seems, and then shoot up into perhaps my groin or bladder region. It sometimes happens when I have been walking, but mostly I feel it sitting in my work chair, couch at home, or when driving. Almost similar to the feeling if you play sports and get maybe injured there. It is not constant but sometimes occurs more frequently than others. I have not been injured recently, however, I have had a pretty consistent heavy cough and wondered if I didn't 'pull something' down there. I do not feel any strange lumps in self examination.
Thank you doctor.

Brief Answer:
Could be due to infection of Spermatic cord (Funicullitis) or Varicocele

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that the discomfort or pain in testicle that you have could be mostly due to one of the following two reasons
1) Infection of Spermatic Cord (Funicullitis) or
2) Varicocele .

However this can be confirmed only on clinical examination in person and Ultrasound Scanning of Scrotum.

consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic
tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and Scrotum

In the mean while start taking broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefixime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
