Suggest Treatment For Sensation Of Incomplete Emptying Of Food From The Stomach

I have been suffering from all of these symptoms from last 13months. All the symptoms have been developed gradually.
1. Bloating/Fullness in “Upper Stomach” which becomes worse right after eating.
2. Nervous stomach: http://www.calmclinic.com/anxiety/signs/bloating
3. Incomplete evacuation- not from rectum, I think my upper stomach has never emptied since last 12months, daily bowel movements, no constipation.
4. Constant Burping from last 5 years. I can burp on command. It’s like some air is always there (Just below the throat). That means I am always ready to burp as many times at any time of day.
5. Sometimes Burning sensation in upper stomach: Very Rare
6. Fatigue and feeling sleepy.
7. Abdomen Distension?: 2 inches
8. Many times I see huge amount of white flakes in stools.
9. Feeling like food is taking hours... moving from stomach into intestines.
- Pain/cramp/ache in stomach: Never
- Pain during stool passage: Never
- Hard stools (Constipation): Never
- Diarrhea: Never
Test:
- Ultrasound: Nothing
- Stool & Urine Test: Nothing
- Diabetes: Negative
- CBC: Normal
- Thyroid Test: Normal
- Weight: No Change
- Appetite: Less than normal due to incomplete evacuation.
Treatment:
- Treatment for GERD and Dyspepsia which made the symptom worse.
What it could be?
IBS: But I don’t have any discomfort in lower abdomen or anywhere. I don’t have constipation or diarrhea. Just bloating.
GERD: But I don’t have acid reflux and heartburn.
Dyspepsia: ???? but does it associate with incomplete evacuation.
What I think:
- Low stomach acid: http://scdlifestyle.com/2012/06/hypochlorhydria-3-common-signs-of-low-stomach-acid/ I have all these symptoms.
- These white flakes are parasites.
- Fecal impaction.
Could be a digestive problems
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
Thanks for writing in .
This is Dr.Riyanka and I am glad to be helping you with your query.
I have read your problems in details .
Since you are not having any diarrhoea or constipation but a sensation of incomplete emptying of food from the stomach, i would recommend that firstly you can opt for deworming:
1. Consult a physician for medications like: Tablet Albendazole 400mg orally twice a day for 2 days. You can repeat the treatment after 2 weeks again.
2. Kindly take over the counter drug like Tablet Omeprazole 20mg daily morning half an hour before breakfast.Try this for 2 weeks.
3. Digestive enzymes like syrup Aristozyme(available in india) one teaspoon after meal three times a days.
Also take six small meals a day instead of three heavy meals. Avoid oily and fatty foods. Take dinner two hours before bed time. Go for regular exercises (walk) for an hour daily. It improves blood circulation.
Your reports are all normal. Its unlikely to be irritable bowel syndrome.
Donot keep unnecessary worries. Keep your mind free by being occupied with work and hobbies.Talk to people go out with friends.
Hope this answered your query.

You are very intelligent and this is the second time you have answered my query.
Since I do not have typical symptoms of GERD and proton pump inhibitors hasn't helped me. Can we try drugs to increase the stomach acid? Kindly read the info on this link and I am sure I have low stomach acid. I have all these three symptoms.

Can you prescribe drugs for the following:
1) Complete evacuation of (accumulated) stool
2) Low stomach acid
3) Ova parasites
Thank You
Please find details below
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
Thanks for writing back with an update.
1. For complete evacuation of stools the following is suggested.
(i) Please drink a glass of warm water when you wake up in the morning. This will make your stools clear.
(ii) Increase amount of fibers in your diet and have less of processed food like bread and fastfoods.
(iii) Drink adequate amount of water and fluids during the day.
2. The low stomach acid needs to be confirmed and then treatment is suggested. Low stomach acid might be due to H pylori infection, vitamin B 12 deficiency or bacterial overgrowth in the stomach causing thiamine deficiency.
Therefore after confirming your condition,
(i) You might take medicine for treating H pylori infection from your doctor. There is a H pylori kit made for this purpose. It contains medicines proton pump inhibitor and antibiotics clarithromycin, and amoxicillin. Levofloxacin can be used in place of amoxicillin for patients who are allergic to penicillin. The duration of treatment is 7 to 14 weeks.
(ii) For vitamin deficiency you should take vitamin B complex supplement as recommended.
3. Ova parasites are treated by taking medicine albendazole as mentioned earlier.
Please consult your doctor and request a prescription for Tablet Albendazole 400mg orally twice a day for 2 days. You can repeat the treatment after 2 weeks again.
Observe food hygiene and wash fruits and vegetables with water before eating. Avoid eating raw salads unless you know it is from a clean source.
