Suggest Treatment For Several Swollen Lymph Nodes

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Sep 2015
Question: I've had swollen lymph nodes all over. In the left elbow, left supraclavicular area, left axillary, and left parotid area. The largest node was seen on CT was by the parotid at 2.2 cm,

It persisted for two months, and my primary care finally referred me to a head and neck surgeon for biopsy.

However, 2 days ago I was placed on clindamycin for a tooth infection, on the right side, and my lymph nodes are still palpable but they are definitely smaller, and the pain in my jaw has reduced.

Is it possible to have a mild systemic bacterial infection for 2-3 months without fever that could have caused this generalized lymphadenopathy? I've been terribly afraid of cancer, but these antibiotics seem to be helping.

Brief Answer:
Biopsy test

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Since you are having swelling of lymph nodes in different region of your body with no fever it is highly unlikely that it is due to bacterial infection.

I would advise you to do a biopsy test immediately to rule out cancer

Some cancers like germ cell tumour and lymphoma are curable disease if treated properly with chemotherapy
