Question: I am in lots of pain after having a copper iud inserted three weeks ago. Scans show it is in the right place and no sign of infection. Is there a chance that the pain will go away eventually?

In case pain persists even after 5 days then visit your doctor for prescription of antibiotics which might help as at times there is a sub clinical infection present which causes pain.
