Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain
Should I take her to that town and and take her to he ER or just wait and see if it worsens then take her. Is this something that can wait over the next week or so or not? Her Dr didn't really give her a lot of info. Thanks
Should go to that town again...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through the medical history of your wife and understood her concerns.
You are reporting that she has had a bypass surgery on 2008. The part of intestines where the pancreatic and biliary liquids are secreted is called afferent loop. This part has not been removed, is still available.
Later on life, there might be blockage of this intestinal part, called Afferent loop syndrome. Your wife's case should be further evaluated as there are 2 main types of blockage:
- acute: where a total blockage has occurred and need immediate surgical help
- chronic: there is still a part of intestines working, but still needs surgical treatment.
So, I highly recommend to send her to the other town immediately. If you cannot get an immediate appointment with her surgeon, then, should send her to ER to avoid further complications.
Hope it helped!
