Brief Answer:
Acute gastritis- H. pylori test is advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for sharing your concerns with us,

I have read though your query carefully, and like your husband has correctly said, you do have symptoms pertaining to acute gastritis.
The drinks which you have taken- coffee, cokes and lemonades seems to be the culprit, being rich in acidic content. It may have cause an acute inflammation in your stomach, causing you your symptoms.

Since, you have already tried carafate, prevacid and nexium which works on primarily neutalizing the acidic contents and by decreasing the acid production, I would suggest you to get an H. Pylori test done if you experience nausea, belching, unexplained weight loss.

H. pylori is also one of the major cause of acute gastritis. You may do a stool antigen or a. H. Pylori antibody test.
If its positive, a combination of antibiotics along with an antacid is recommended.
Kindly consult with a doctor in your area and see if he agrees with me.

Meanwhile, I would recommend you
-to continue on carafate for a week or two and on nexium for another 2 weeks.
- Also avoid foods that are spicy, oily and too fatty. Also avoid any beverages( tea, coffee) for a while.
- Remain stress free
- Have your dinner at-least 3-4 hours prior to bedtime.
- You may consider the use of two pillows to avoid any regurgitation at night.

Hope I have answered to your query
