Suggest Treatment For Severe Acne On Face And All Over Body

This is XXXXXXX I had posted a query to you in Nov last year regarding the acne problem that I was having
My acne had suddenly increased a lot on face and body and you had said it could be due to the "My DHEA" meds that I was having.
I am in the planning phase and my doc had prescribed 6 weeks of my dhea course(3 tablets a day)
I have stopped taking this medicines since November end but my acne has not improved
I have recently moved to XXXXXXX and owing to the cold, I am facing dandruff problems as well. I was also attributing my acne to dandruff but cannot be certain
Anyway, I am thinking of visiting a dermatologist given that everyone is commenting on the over eruption of acne on my face. I am just confused if it is a good idea since I am on medication for thyroid (eltroxin 137.5) and baby planning (oosure and macfolate)
Please advise
Regards, XXXXXXX
It is definitely a good idea
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
New year wishes to your family and you. I understand your concern.
As per your query, you have stopped taking DHEA since November, and the acne has worsened now.
Yes, you are right and you can be certain that the dandruff could be the attributing cause to your acne. This is possible in most patients of Dandruff accompanied by acne. I have seen a lot of such patients myself where treatment of Dandruff becomes the primary care and then acne treatment, eventually.
There is a change in the weather as well since you have moved to XXXXXXX This affects your skin, hair and general well being as well.
It is definitely a good idea to visit a Dermatologist and get a physical examination done. The medications that you are on and the baby planning will not come in the way of treatment. Please go ahead with the consultation.
Also, I would suggest you to get a fresh hormonal profile test done now which would include serum FSH, LH, testosterone and thyroid function test.
Keep me posted.
Regards.
