Brief Answer:
Tension type headache/ENT checkup.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing details.

My clinical impression of your wife's headache is that she is likely having 'Tension type Headache'.It appears to have some migrainous features as well.

Plan of management-
1)Regular mental relaxation exercises/meditation/pranayama.
2)Tab.amitriptyline(Tryptomer) 10 mg once a day at bedtime.
3)Tab.Naproxen 250 mg(post meal) sos(at the time of severe headache).

Amitriptyline is a good medicine which takes care of Tension type headache as well as Migrainous headache. It has a preventive role.

If your wife does not respond to amitriptyline, she should undergo a brain imaging like CECT Head or MRI Brain,to see if there is any underlying pathology in the brain.

In the background of association with cold, please get her evaluated by an ENT specialist as well, for sinus related problems.

Please follow-up and tell about the response to medicines.

PLEASE TAKE ALL MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE ONLY.

Hope that I have answered your query for now.If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
