Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for your query.
I appreciate your efforts for medical consultation in so much distress.
Important aspects of your query are:
• 28 year old male
• History of anxiety and ocd.
• Treatment History: Nexito, Prodep and Olanzapine.
Excessive imaginative thoughts involving aggressive reaction is one of the symptoms of OCD.
Other symptoms of OCD which may or may not be present in your case: Anxiety, nervousness, restlessness, mild irritability, excessive worries, headache, sleep disturbance, palpitation, anger and poor concentration. All these symptoms affect personal, professional and academic life (study and concentration) significantly.
OCD and Anxiety occur due to neurotransmitters imbalance in brain most commonly involving serotonin neurotransmitter.
There is need for treatment, if symptoms cause significant personal distress or affect personal/professional life like in your case. Both drug and non drug treatment like cognitive behaviour therapy (form of psychotherapy) are used for treatment. Choice of treatment depends on severity of symptoms, personal preference and availability of treatment.
In drug treatment two types of medicine used. For immediate relief of anxiety benzodiazepines group of medicines are used and for long term relief most commonly SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, like you used in past: Nexito and Prodep) are used. SSRI takes around 3-4 weeks to show its effect.
All these medicines are prescription medicine and given after in person examination by physician. So, In your case it is better to restart treatment from nearby Psychiatrist. Same time also inform your psychiatrist about the past treatment history (Nexito and prodep), response to treatment (which medicine shows better response) and side effects (like excessive sleep with olanzapine).
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
Wishing you good health.
Regards
