Suggest Treatment For Severe Anxiety And Coughs

Question: Hi. I am a 23 year old male, skinny , muscular and I eat fairly healthy. I have been going to the doctor a lot recently with some issues I have been facing recently that concern me. This hit me all of a sudden and I don't seem to be overly stressed. It has been happening for a month straight.
Basically I can never get a full breath( no wheezing or coughing), my heart is always irritated, like I can feel its presence all the time and it hurts sometimes. It flutters a lot when I work myself and it tends to get worse when I eat certain foods ESPECIALLY before bed. I have had a several panic attacks went went to emergency with numb arms, head , body, basically my whole body and they are saying its anxiety, so I am starting to think it is too. I have an attack on average every couple days and it is really getting on my nerves.
It is really affecting my daily life, I cant do a lot of things I used to and I fear I cant go to far from "help" in case something happens. I am really not the type of person to worry about stuff but this really concerns me.
I would like to know if this sounds like symptoms of anxiety to you, especially the fact that the trouble breathing NEVER goes away. Every waking moment I am struggling to get a full breath, and people I have talked to with anxiety don't have this, so I was wondering if it is possible to have this symptom along with all the heart flutters and heart spazzing feelings
I would also like to know some tips as to help control anxiety because I know nothing about it and there is no family history of it. Especially for going to bed because the breathing prevents me from falling asleep and at times I even forget to breath for up to half a minute or so and that scares me.
I would appreciate some info and help tips to battle this if it is anxiety.

Thanks!

Brief Answer:
These symptoms are most probably due to anxiety

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related doubts

I can understand your concern. You've mentioned that you can't get full breath and you can feel the presence of flutter all the times. You have history of panic and anxiety disorder and these symptoms are most likely occurring due to anxiety. But still I'd advise you to get your cardiac evaluation done at least once to rule out any cardiac cause. ECG can help to rule out arrhythmias. Though we can clinically rule out these symptoms easily. Arrhythmias usually remain persistent and show missed beats or irregular beast in rapid heart. You have awareness of beat and this too is not persistent.

Feelings that you are not able to breath properly and hear flutters are common symptoms of anxiety in a lot of individuals. Take proper treatment of anxiety and your symptoms will go.

Take deep and slow breaths and this will solve the problem of respiration in your case. Some times rapid and shallow breaths cause carbon dioxide wash out and this results in rapid breath after stimulating the respiratory centre. These rapid breaths further worsens the situation and vicious cycle results. This should be stopped. So deep and slow breaths will help in this. This will calm the heart too and you will feel better.

Breath holding exercises, yoga can also help in reducing the awareness of heart beat and you will feel better. Avoid tea, coffee, carbonated drinks especially in evening. If possible the avoid alcohol too.

Thanks and Take care
