Brief Answer:
Good morning all way to Winnipeg, Manitoba

Detailed Answer:
My family and I used to live in Winnipeg, Manitoba when I was in 1st grade. I recall the winters there as being brutal.....of course, at age 5 or 6 I was more enamored with the fact that it could snow 5 nearly 2 meters in one night and we used to build snow tunnels on the way to school....so I guess the cold subzero temperatures and the virtually ABSENT summer temperatures for more than 4 weeks out of the year didn't bother me.

Unfortunately, you are not going to be able to receive prescriptions from ANY ONLINE medical consultation service.....UNLESS it were possibly based in Canada itself. That is because the doctors that are responding ot you and the service you are on is outside of the Canadian territory and therefore, the medical license of the practitioner and therefore, the prescription is not valid in any pharmacy.

You will find some online medical consulting services that provide prescription writing as part of their offered attention, however, that would be because the doctors giving those prescriptions have licenses that are within the country and state of origin from where the consultation originates. I don't think Canada has any such service due to the socialized medicine it provides.

As far as your medical condition is concerned what I would recommend you do is see a doctor at your earliest chance who is a sleep specialist and who can order a sleep study to discover what your sleep architecture looks like. Obviously, the problem you're describing is consistent most closely with INSOMNIA though I cannot specify exactly which type nor the cause. It sounds as if you have elements of depression and anxiety involved and these are powerful obstacles to getting restful sleep. On the other hand, you could have other sleep disorders such as REM DISORDER, SLEEP APNEA, or HYPERSOMNIA.

The description of your psychological picture makes me highly suspect a primary type of generalized anxiety disorder that needs to be dealt with ahead of everything else. Lack of sleep is simply part of that picture and will likely improve once the anxiety and depression are treated. You should definitely not do very much in the way of prescription or even NON-prescription drugs for sleep as these can be addictive and poorly effective if the primary problem causing the sleep disorder is not being treated.

You should reduce or eliminate the use of alcohol as this can have rebound effects of insomnia when used in excess. Going out late with friends is something else that could interfere. Your sleep cycle may be out of phase and may need to be realigned. Once again, a sleep specialist can help reorganize or re-synchronize your sleep schedule using what's referred to as a SLEEP DIARY.

You say that you don't want to spend much time in front of anyone to figure the problem out but unfortunately, I cannot see any alternative but to actually be in front of someone and for YOU to PARTICIPATE in whatever checkups, bloodwork, or testing are considered necessary to get the answer since your problem is not simply BLACK AND WHITE. You need to match your expectation levels of what you're looking for to the problem at hand.

Complicated problem requires detailed and THOROUGH workup. My hope is that you actually do find a doctor interested in seeing you get better who is willing to take the time to listen to you...so long as you are willing to provide all the information necessary, and to test you for the right things to make sure all systems are go....instead of just getting you in and out of their office with a useless prescription which you've already said does no good in the long term.

I wish you the best in your endeavors from one Former Winnipeggian to another.
