Suggest Treatment For Severe Anxiety Post A Hormone Replacement Therapy

Blood work with temporary anxiety medication
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Did you ever try hormone replacement pills before getting the pellet implanted? If so, did you have a similar effect? Do you feel fatigued, worn out, or irritable?
Do you have a history of anxiety or did you have anxiety in the past?
It is well known that women received hormone replacement (progesterone and estrogen, as well as testosterone) therapy will have less depression and anxiety. Therefore, you are having a paradoxical reaction to the pellets or the hormone replacement therapy in general, or it is coincidental that you developed it at the time.
A paradoxical reaction or paradoxical effect is an effect of medical treatment, usually a drug, opposite to the effect which would normally be expected. An example of a paradoxical reaction is pain caused by a pain relief medication.
Anxiety is a known reaction to testosterone. You may have too much testosterone in the pellet.
Ultimately, I would recommend getting an anxiety medication for a short time. The anxiety could be your body adapting to the hormones which is giving you the feeling of anxiety. In addition, I would recommend get a full panel of blood work to make sure there is not an underlying metabolic, electrolyte, or endocrine disorder that has unmasked it self with the pellet therapy. You may also want to limit your caffeine intake.

Thanks for your answer. Yes, I do have panic disorder and that is the reason i did the hormone therapy. I never had a hormone pills or therapy before. I do have alprazolam for the panics 0.5mg . I take half of it, but with this side effects sometimes i take a whole pill. Those pellets cant be taking out, so i am stuck with it for 3,4 months . Is this testestorone bad for the heart? Also how long aproximately i will have this anxiety going on ? The doctor did a blood work and acording to that he decided how much of each hormone i need. Everything from the blood work was fine except my vitaming D was low, so i am taking some now. It was 12.2. The estrogen was <5, testestorone was 5. I also don't drink coffee or anything with that, alchohol either. Just water. Thanks you
Continue xanax
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
That is unfortunately that your panic disorder got worse with hormone therapy.
I suspect this is a transient issues, and the anxiety should resolve as your body adapts to the change in hormones.
I would continue to take xanax. If you notice that you are taking it daily or several times a day, you should return to your prescribing doctor to get a new medication such as lexapro, zoloft, or prozac. Xanax is less effect in the long term treatment as you may become addicted and tolerant to it.
A lot of the research that was done for testosterone was done in men. Testosterone is a safe medication - however, there is still a lot of debate on if testosterone can increase your risk of heart attacks or stokes. They have not found any significant increase is cardiovascular events (such as heart attacks) with people taking testosterone.
