Question: What are your fees for an answer to medical and/or physical question?....hourly, fee for service et al? Would a neurologist or another brain/mind body connection physician be better credentialed to answer my single question? Am 72 yrs & & my HBP has always been higher than usual and I take 5 mg of Lisinpril every day for it, plus weight runs between 172 - 179 lbs. If u agree that 4/5 TBIs in my younger years is cause/effect, please cite backup document w/source for HBP running between 130/75 average for many years. My height is 5'10" Tks. Q. Also have anxiety disorder with TBI as well as GERD when am stressed at work, plus osteoarthritis that I cannot work more than 3/4 hrs a day.

Brief Answer:
Your blood pressure is perfectly normal!

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for choosing HCM
At a age of 72 blood pressure 130/76 mm is perfectly normal.Lisinopril is a very safe drug and 5mg is a kow dose,So i don't feel that you should worry about that.Infact the target blood pressure after age of 50 is less then 140/90mm of hg.Traumatic brain injury has nothing to do with your blood pressure..
Anxiety disorder can cause elevated blood pressure but your blood pressure is in control with a single medicine,So there is no need to worry.
As per your question you need a cardiologist not a neurologist. So you can opt for cardiac speciality question.
If you have any other query please write it in a bit clear way.
Thank you!
Have a happy and safe recovery.
Regards,
Rini.

Brief Answer:
Yes anxiety is directly related to hypertension!

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Anxiety ,stress, and anger stimulate our nervous system(vagal stimulation),As vagus nerve is stimulated various peripheral blood vessels constricts,Constriction of blood vessels causes elevation of blood pressure.Apart from that higher anxiety levels stimulate the secretion of androgens.Increased levels of androgen causes increase in blood pressure.Al systems of body are inter related,Anxiety and nervousness are directly related to blood pressure.
Thanks!
