Question: Recently I have been having severe pain in the back of my neck when I get up from sleeping. I suspect it may be from tensing my neck muscles while sleeping. What can Io to get rid of this pain?

You seem to be suffering from Cervical spondylosis.

Avoid using a thick pillow. Apply hot packs to the affected region. Avoid forward neck bending. Avoid carrying or lifting weights.

Take Tablet Diclofenac with Thicolchicoside combination twice a day after meals and Tablet Rabeprazole twice a day before meals for 5 days. The pills are available on prescription.

Perform physiotherapy with TENS and Neck extension and shoulder strengthening exercises.

These measures windup you get great relief.
