Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxx,

Thank you for posting the query.

Grasping pains in the right side of the back in the area that you have mentioned occurs most probably due to renal (kidney) stones. The right kidney is usually located in this region and accumulation of calculi in kidneys is the commonest cause of "grasping" pain in this region.

Muscular strains, pleurisy or other abdominal causes also can cause radiating pains in this region.

You should get a X ray of the affected region as well a ultrasonography of the whole abdomen to come to a diagnosis.

Antispasmodics like cyclopam, meftal spas can help relieve pain till then.
You should drink plenty of water.

Get back to me when the reports are ready so that i can guide you further.

I hope the answer was useful.

Thank you.

Kind regards.
