Question: Last night I awoke with severe bilateral muscle spasms of my quadriceps muscles lasting approximately 5 minutes. Felt a little breathless, but that could have been an adrenaline response. I am 58'years old, I do lift heavy weights - last lifted 2 nights prior. Now just noticing some musle twitching in my calf, hamstring and quadriceps - just my right leg. How concerned should I be?

Brief Answer:
Monitor only for now!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

These symptoms all by themselves at this time are suggestive of consequences of intense training. Unless something else sets in, these should eventually resolve spontaneously.

I will recommend rest and monitoring only at this time. If any new symptoms set in, report to me for further review and guidance.

At this time, there is no reason to be too concerned or seek immediate medical evaluation.

I hope this helps and guides. I wish you well.
