Suggest Treatment For Severe Bloating During 11 Weeks Of Pregnancy While Have Chocolate Cysts
Question: Hi Doctor,
In the early pregnancy scan, they have indicated "Left adenexal hypoechoic mass of 10.8X7cms seen s/o - ? Ovarian Chocolate Cyst".
We have taken second opinion at Fernandez hospitals, they said not to worry about it as long as there is no pain.
My wife has all usual pregnancy symptoms so far and she is healthy.
This coming Tuesday, we are going for second ultrasound in Fernandez hospitals where they will be analyzing the cysts again.
My wife's stomach looks large and she feels bloated most of the time. today she has some kind of pain while stretching above the belly button(upper abdomen) in the center.
I want to believe that its usual symptom and normal. But we are unable to enjoy our situation because of all these things, we are very anxious every time something happens which is not normal. She is crying why her situation is not like many other normal pregnant woman. I am trying to console to my best. Please advice something for our situation.
She is in her 11th week now.

Brief Answer:
Continue with pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
There is no harm in continuing if the cyst is chocolate or endometriotic. It will not affect your pregnancy.
If it is a different cyst then your obstetrician will suggest keyhole surgery.
If she has discomfort consult a different obstetrician and get an ultrasound scan from a radiologist.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards

Thank you Doctor.
How would we get confirmation if its a chocolate cyst or endometric, because its not yet confirmed. most likely our scan on Tuesday will give us better results.
As part of CA-125 test, value is around 157. But I have read it that it could be because of pregnancy, endometriosis.
I understand better wait and see the results and not hurry. Pain she is complaining could be because of gas ? Now she is fine again.

Brief Answer:
You need to repeat scan
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You are absolutely correct as ca125 can be raised in both. Definitely need a second opinion to confirm endometric cyst. It will not affect pregnancy. Other cysts can cause torsion. So discuss with your obstetrician.
