Suggest Treatment For Severe Bruising On The Forearm

default
Posted on Tue, 2 Aug 2016
Question: I have a very bad bruise on my right forearm -- ran into a door jam while holding a big heavy box. I iced it immediately and the following day and night (which greatly diminished the swelling). My concern is a solid white spot in the midst of the bruise. Is there any worry that it might be a blood clot?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.

Trauma usually leads to inflammation and redness.
Since you iced the part, the inflammation reduced.
But the part which is solid and white can be to due occlusion of blood supply and hence white.
Please check for sensation in this spot.
